Loved this storyThe adventure of time travelinge friendships that go one love that is found ones heart can changeis story has it all. Found myself not wanting to set the book down until it was completedw I can't wait for the series to continue. Thank you Anne Meredith!
Such a gem!I'm a huge fan of time travel books, yet this brought tears to my eyes. Different from most, two best friends from childhood end up in colonial Williamsburg. The main character Rachel the night she lands in the past, had just learned her father isn't truly her father. She'd actually blocked the first part of her childhood out. She knew he'd adopted her, but had no clue the man he was. Would she ever learn the truth of her past? Shockingly she wouldever it took ending up hundreds of ye [...]
A great book about time traveling to Colonial America! When it comes to time traveling books I tend to be a little skeptical on how it will end. In Tender, I was wonderfully pleased with the outcome. This book covered topics such as slavery, abuse, a murder trial, faithfulness and honor. Rachel and Grey were both such down to earth, realistic characters who both have their flaws and imperfections. Same goes for Camisha, Rachel's best friend who is black. Her character and passions lends so much d [...]
Loved it, loved it, loved it. VERY highly recommended to all interested in Time TravelWow! What a great book. This is a very in depth book, full of twists and turns and has its own HEA even though it is the start of a series. I couldn't believe the ending,it certainly wasn't what I expected. I had real trouble putting it down and read it allnight to find out what happened. Two of my favourite genres are time travel and romance, and this book had them both in spades, together with a lot of America [...]
Rachel has been taught that "it's all about the money" from her adoptive father. She has flashes from a young life. She and her best friend, Camisha, are sent back in time. Of course Rachel is skeptical. They each learn something they needed to know. Rachel eventually reclaims her suppressed memories. In the end, Rachel returns to her time. She is befret from losing her one true love. How do you go forward when your heart is in the past? How do you fill the hole that is there? I simply couldn't ge [...]
Tender is a book that will transport your mind and your heart into the past. You will love, hate, laugh, smile, and cry. It will tear you apart emotionally, but at the end you will have a new appreciation for the past. This book is a must read for people who love romance.
GoodThere were great times in this book and then not so much. I was wanting a beautiful love story which I got. But with slavery, murder and rape. That's why this book gets a 3 1/2 stars.
A strong plot and some good old-fashioned (or is it new fangled?) time travel makes a story sing. The first book sets up the plot beautifully for the other books and the other stories that need to be told.
Rachel Sheppard learns that her father has been keeping dark secrets from her for twenty years while visiting Colonial Williamsburg with her best friend Camisha. Rachel has no memory of the first six years of her life before she was adopted. While visiting Colonial Williamsburg Rachel and Camisha meet up with a couple that give them a place to stay at Rosalie; the home of the Trelawneys in 1746 that use to be a tobacco plantation. The couple tells them stories about the lives of the Trelawneys a [...]
An ok read. I'd prefer another work from this author 'Love Across Time' which I've just finished a few days ago. Nevertheless, if you're fond of time travel books this would be a nice read.
I didn't care for the book at alljust did not connect with the characters and skipped a few chapters to be done with it.
