Full review at bronzelock619/2016/07/the-lost-boy-iron-witch-05-karen-mahoneyml.This is a story before Xan met had even Donna. Back in Ironbridge, Xan enlisted the help of the Changling girl Ivy to find out about the Changling who had taken over his life and identity, left in his place after he was kidnapped by the Wood Elves. Xan needed to know about the one who became Jonathan Kane in his place, as he no longer knew how to live as Alexander Greyson anymore.Lost boy is a short story from Xan's [...]
Don [...]
A pretty fun, quick read that provides some insight into the character of Alexander from The Iron Witch series. The story is set several months before the actual trilogy begins, and it focuses on Xan as he meets the changeling who replaced him and is now living his life. The writing is actually pretty good and I must say I am now pretty curious to read the first book in the trilogy and find out what happens next. Xan seems like an interesting character and I'm looking forward to getting to know [...]
This is a prequel short story set before The Iron Witch and in the POV of Xan. He's an intriguing character, so it was cool to get a closer look at him.Xan is half-fey and has become obsessed with finding the changeling who 'stole' his life. However, finding him doesn't exactly help Xan find the answers he was hoping forThis is a lovely and very well-written story. Xan is an interesting character with physical and emotional scars, trying to find his way in the world. Oh, and I just loved how the [...]
Xan, who we know from The Iron Witch Series is part Fae. I really enjoyed seeing Xan and finding out part of his story and his relationship with Ivy (a changeling). I think Xan needs his own book, maybe some kind of prequel about what it was like growing up and having his powers emerge. Xan's world is a world that we don't get to see too much in the series.
A lovely short read that takes place before The Iron Witch, giving us a feel for Xan, who is half fey. Ms. Mahoney has such a beautiful writing style, so this story was a treat. If you haven't read her books it's the perfect introduction, and if you have, it's still a lovely read.
I enjoyed the first book so much that when I seen this book here on , I rushed to get it.Maybe I would have liked it if I had read it first but I didn’t read it first. So I found the book pointless.
kazmahoney/free-reads/It was nice to have the back round this short offered into a MSC. It gave you some insight into his history without giving away details of the trilogy.
I'll give it a 3 1/2 stars. I has me intrigued after 30 pages, so I'll definitely be giving the first full book in the series, The Iron Witch, a read through. :o)
Great short story of Zan and Ivy, and how he finds the one who replaced him when he was taken, and things about choices, and yeah, good short story!
Interesting prequel. Definitely wanted to make me read the series to find out more.
kazmahoney/free-fictioLOVED IT! as I knew I would, Karen is an excellent author!
An interesting look at Xan, especially his friendship with Ivy.
The whole time I was reading this all I could think was, um, what? And I love this genre. After seeing many disappointed reviews for The Iron Witch, I don't think I'm going to bother.
bon, bah c'est bon, je suis frustrée, je veux savoir la suite, va falloir que je lise le tome 1 de The Iron Witch en VO maintenant
This was a quick little short story. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either.
